[For Ahrefs users] How to find out if "Google has rewritten the title"

From the second half of August, SEO workers have been talking about automatic title rewriting by Google.

Google says this algorithm isn't a ranking factor, but users don't want to click on sites with unnatural titles.

I'm sorry that you can't check the title change history etc. in the search console or analytics, but this time, I will briefly tell you how to check if the title change has occurred only for Ahrefs users.

Please use it as a reference to find out how your site is affected and what has changed on competing sites.

Open Site Explorer

First, open Site Explorer and enter the site URL you want to check.

Go to the organic keywords in "Site Explorer 2.0" on the left.

It is the part of the red frame.

Check SERP

By pressing the "SERP" button on the right side, you can check the title actually displayed on the search result screen.

At this time, if you press "Target only", you can narrow down to a specific page.

By changing the date in this state, you can check the display of the title for each day.

Did it actually affect you?

I checked it in our article.

This time, it seems that there were many topics that there was a movement in "brackets".

The article that changed was for those who are using "WordPress", so it disappeared ... isn't it?

Instead, the keyword "Page Speed Insights" came up.

The content is correct, but I don't like the fact that such fine adjustments are made when setting the title with the search intent in mind.

Even more, it is out for users who are judged by the presence or absence of the word "WordPress" ...

As a countermeasure, it is good to watch the situation here and fine-tune the title, but since Google has also made fine adjustments for a while, considering that there are fluctuations, there is no choice but to wait for a while.

I tried to make this article a title with a lot of parentheses on a trial basis. Is there any change ...?

If the title change is too bad

If you say, "This isn't true," you can adjust it while checking the search display, but send an example of inappropriate rewriting to the Google help community.

Cases in Japanese have already been raised. I think that there are many cases in English, but don't be afraid to use translations and give your opinions.

summary

For Ahrefs users, this time we've talked about it. By looking at the SERP screen by date, whether there was a big change or not, and since the automatic title generation itself has been slightly changed from the past, it is also a good idea to go back a little and check it at this opportunity. nice one.

I'm afraid that this update will backfire if it works badly, so unless it's a very bad title change, I think it's a good idea to follow along with a little information.

I hope this article will be of some help to you.
